When I was invited to join the PDS Team at HRD, I was unaware of the challenges facing this new team. It is 4 months later and as I reflect, I realize that I have come a very long way. The bulk of my time has been spent researching and creating the Program Development 101 and 201 events for the innovative Professional Developer's Program. I am so proud of my efforts and that of my co-author Anamarie Root that it would be criminal not to promote these fine events to all of Broward County Public School system.
The project for my podcast will be to create a promotion for PD 101 and 201 urging program designers and program managers to sign up and support us in our effort to change the way Professional Development is delivered in BCPS.
I am not sure which type of podcast to use that would be most effective and enticing. I am thinking that an enhanced podcast might be the way to do this. I have some great slides from the course and might ask a team member to snap a photo or two of some engaging moments during the events. Music and voiceovers are definately in my plan.
I would appreciate all suggestions and lots of HELP! :)

Hello IPod LC
Better late than never! I am pleased to join this learning community.
My name is Kyna Miller and I am a Staff Assistant in HRD/PDS. I am very happy to be part of the the HRD team and I have been enjoying my learning experiences thus far.
I am still formulating the questions for my research, but I have decided where I will put my research efforts. For over 17 years, I have been employed in private industry, mostly in medium-sized corporations. I have honed most of my business/technology skills in that arena. It seems that they were usually on the cutting edge of technology and I wonder if and how they are using Podcasts.
My questions will be addressed to as many corporations as will answer my survey. It is important that we not only look to the employees of the SBBC for answers, but to private industry as well. Perhaps they are using the podcasts in ways that we could adapt. Perhaps they can learn from us.
As a member of the Professional Development Support Team, I am designing courses, both face-to-face and Blackboard. I have thought about how I could use podcasts in those courses, especially in the planning and remediation components.
